The UPCYCLE Electronic Waste Recycling Process has been designed to create an opportunity for anyone to recycle their end of life IT Equipment in a cost effective, environmentally conscious, socially responsible and secure manner. What follows is a step by step description of our industry-leading electronic waste recycling process that combines best practices with a dedication to flexibility and customer service.
UPCYCLE drivers are experts at centralizing and categorizing your electronic inventory. Before removal, we create an inventory document so you are 100% aware of what is being collected. Our goal is to provide complete transparency, while making this labor intensive process effortless. We accept anything with a plug in any condition and are well versed at blending into a corporate or academic setting.
Our in-house logistics team and drivers are trained, vetted, and certified by UPCYCLE. Our e waste recycling team will safely pack and load all of your on-site assets from your location. After your equipment is loaded into an UPCYCLE truck, we will safely transport your equipment, FREE of CHARGE, to one of our facilities certified for inspection and processing.
From the time we arrive on-site for pickup, only full vetted, certified, and trained UPCYCLE employees handle your hardware. This strict chain of custody provides total security, transparency, and peace of mind. Once your equipment is delivered to one of our secure facilities by an UPCYCLE driver, our certified technicians will clean any and all equipment with sensitive data. Each hard drive is cleaned with our DOD 26 wipe system. If shredding is preferred, we shred and destroy all hard drives and then generate a certification of destruction within 24 hours!
Every UPCYCLE pickup includes a Bill of Lading (BOL) that is created on-site and delivered by your driver at the time of pickup. This includes a general inventory report with a piece count of every item that is leaving your facility and unique ID number specific to your pickup. If a more detailed report is needed, you can work with your UPCYCLE electronic waste management specialist to determine what is needed, and we will provide a custom reporting solution that addresses your specific requirements.
UPCYCLE is committed to sustainability and guarantees your equipment will not end up in a landfill. Every asset handled by UPCYCLE receives a certificate of proper handling and recycling because it is our moral and social responsibility to provide top of the line recycling services to all of our partners. We maintain our own certifications to ensure total compliance and accountability in the processing of electronic waste and only work with verified and compliant down-stream, certified vendors, who are regularly vetted and inspected by UPCYCLE.
A portion of any proceeds as well as reusable equipment is donated to various educational programs. At UPCYCLE, our hope and goal is that retired equipment may help underprivileged children to learn valuable technological skills that may one day translate into a fulfilling career and better life.
